How You Can Help
At the present time we are a small organization, we have no paid employees and our directors are contributors. They donate their time and money to pay for the CAACPP’s operational costs. This means that 100% of every dollar you donate goes to Cambodian children and families.
We are tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) and your donation is tax deductible. Donations can be to the projects in general, or to a category of your choice:
1) Rice, clothing and medicine distributions which occur twice a year, but will increase in frequency if donations increase
2) Educational subsidies. We are in the process of assessing the monthly cost and putting together a list of children who need to be matched with donors who wish to support a child’s education. You can choose a child from our list or let us choose them for you. We will give you information on their situation and update you on their progress.
3) Medical subsidies. There is no health insurance in Cambodia and the medical system requires payment for service, no money up front, no treatment. In rural areas, entire families live on little more than a dollar a day. We have seen a child’s eardrum ruptured due to untreated infection because the family could not afford a common antibiotic. Donations to this program will enable a
child to visit to a clinic, where he or she will be treated by a qualified physician and receive medications they may need. We also try to help parents who are disabled by a non-terminal medical condition that can be treated cost effectively, which would allow them to return to being able to provide for their children.
